Each year, the Junior League of Montgomery and the Volunteer and Information Center join hands to co-sponsor the Volunteer of the Year Awards. The Junior League of Montgomery and the Volunteer & Information Center are co-sponsoring the 31st annual Volunteer of the Year Awards and invite members of the community to nominate individuals and/or businesses in the River Region. This award gives agencies and individuals the opportunity to show appreciation to those special volunteers who give so generously of their time, talent and energy to make our community a stronger and better place to live.
The categories for nominations are: Adult, Adult Group, Senior, Youth, Youth Group and Arts. The awards are presented at a special ceremony i
n April followed by a reception in honor of the award recipients and all of the nominees.
This year's awards will be presented on April 24 at a banquet at First United Methodist Church. Guest speaker for this year's special recognition event is First Lady of Alabama Patsy Riley.
