Signature Project

In October of 2000, the Junior League of Montgomery began to educate its membership about the concept of a Signature Project.

A Signature Project would be a large scale project fitting the focus area of the Junior League of Montgomery and meeting a need in our city. It would require a three to five year time commitment and a significant financial commitment from the League, generating enthusiasm and excitement among the membership, with a broad enough interest to involve many League members with opportunities for voluntarism and a wide variety of placements.

Very important to the Junior League of Montgomery is that the Signature Project provides opportunities to collaborate with others in the community, create high visibility and leave a legacy in our community, and be self-sustaining after the League involvement ends. As all these goals are accomplished through a Signature Project, new members would also be attracted to the League.

In 2005, the League completed Phase 1 of our Signature Project with the Grand Opening of Discovery Village Planning for Phase 2, a Children's Museum for Central Alabama River Region is currently underway.
