PRESIDENT: JENNIFER ROGERS

Jennifer Bolen Rogers, originally from New Orleans Louisiana, lives in Montgomery with her husband Brian and their three children Samuel, Harrison and Frances Ann. She works with a grant from University of Alabama Birmingham for College and Career Readiness. Jennifer completed her undergraduate degree at Louisiana Tech and received a master’s degree from Auburn University at Montgomery.

Jennifer has served on various fundraising committees such as: Holiday Market, Rummage Sale including chairing the event, Decorator Show House, Fund Development Committee, 90th Anniversary Committee, Shop, Save, Serve and Fundraising Council VP. She has also served on the Community Research Committee, Placement Chair and Co-Chair and DHR Foster Teens Room Renovation, House To House and Community Council VP. Jennifer has received the “Women to Watch” award, In League Volunteer of the Year, and been apart of two Community Placements of the Year and three In-League Placements of the year.

Jennifer is active in her children’s school PTC, chairing several events and helping build and renovate two playgrounds along with the current Capitol Campaign for the new gym.  She has also served on the Montgomery Catholic Strategic Planning Committee. Jennifer and her husband Brian, enjoy watching their children play sports; participate in school events and ballet programs. Each have special God given talents and keep them busy! However, as a family they enjoy traveling as much as they can for football, family events and of course Mardi Gras


PRESIDENT ELECT: ALLISON PRILLAMAN

Allison grew up in Montgomery and graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor decree in Marketing. She is currently a loan officer with Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation. She began her career in the industry 15 years ago and loves helping customers realize their dream of home ownership. Her calm demeanor combined with her impeccable work ethic and extensive industry knowledge are just a few reasons she’s
achieved success in her field.

Allison has been a member of the Junior League since 2006. She initially served on various community placements before finding her niche on the Holiday Market committee. She served in various positions including Assistant Treasurer, Treasurer, Co-Chair and eventually the Chair. She has also served several times on the Board as the Operations VP, Community VP and Fundraising VP.

Allison is married to Nick Prillaman who is a Fixed Income Analyst/Portfolio Manager with the Retirement Systems of Alabama. They have two sons, Walker and Henry. They attend St John’s Episcopal Church and enjoy exploring the world together.


COMMUNICATIONS VP: SUZANNA WASSERMAN

Suzanna Wasserman, a Montgomery native, is the Director of Marketing for The Shoppes at EastChase and Crawford Square Real Estate Advisors. She is responsible for the marketing, events, communication and business development efforts of the shopping center, as well as the corporate office, located in Birmingham, AL.

She has more than ten years of experience with marketing and public relations. Prior to joining The Shoppes at EastChase, she was the Marketing Director for Eastdale Mall, Distinguished Events Specialist for the American Cancer Society, as well as the Program Coordinator for Leadership Development at the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce.

Suzanna joined the Junior League of Montgomery in 2009 and has since served in multiple leadership capacities throughout her tenure in the league. From Rummage Sale to Holiday Market and Community Research Council, and now serving in her third board position as Communications VP.

Outside of her work with The Shoppes at EastChase, Suzanna is involved heavily in the Montgomery community. She is the past president for Child Protect’s Junior Board and currently serving on the board for CrimeStoppers. Suzanna is a graduate of the Inaugural Emerge Torchbearer’s Leadership Class, a program of Leadership Montgomery.
Suzanna attended Huntingdon College in Montgomery, AL where she graduated with a B.A. in Fine Art and Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. In her spare time, Suzanna enjoys going to see live music and playing tennis.


COMMUNITY COUNCIL VP: QUENITA MITCHELL

Quenita Mitchell a native of Georgiana, AL, but spent most of her childhood in Anniston, AL. Quenita found her way to Montgomery to attend Troy University’s Montgomery campus where she completed a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration in 2010. Throughout the years, she has held several management positions in banking and retail. Following her philanthropist heart has landed her the current a position as the Community Development Manager at the American Cancer Society where she is supporting Relay for Life events for Chilton, Dallas, and Lowndes Counties and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Montgomery, AL.

Quenita has been a member of the Junior League of Montgomery since 2012 and is a recipient of the Tonda West Provisional of the year award for 2012-2013 and In-league Volunteer of the Year 2019. Since joining the League she has served in many capacities including Rummage Sale Personnel Chair, Common Ground Chair, Provisional Co- chair and Chair, Habitat for Humanity, Taste of the River Region, Magic Moments, Rummage Sale Committees and Member Records Coordinator.

Quenita married to Roderick Mitchell and they have two children, Dmonte and Quinlyn. Quenita is an active member of Little Zion A.M.E. Zion Church Ramer, AL. In her free time she enjoys working in her family’s business, reading, baking and crafting. She is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.


FINANCE COUNCIL VP: ANGIE MARTIN

Angie grew up in Georgia and graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor degree in Marketing. Following graduation, Angie worked in pharmaceutical sales for Novartis in both Birmingham and then in Montgomery. Angie is currently a stay at home Mom which means she spends most of her time driving her children from one activity to the next. Angie enjoys working out with friends, volunteering at her children’s school and church, and serving in other civic organizations.

Angie has been a member of the Junior League since 2014. She began by serving as the Sustainer Liaison and has held different roles each year to include Arrangements chair, new
placement chair for Girls on the Run, and Assistant Treasurer. She looks forward to her new role as Treasurer of the League.

Angie is married to David Martin who is a lawyer with Copeland, Franco, Screws and Gill. They have a fifteen year-old daughter, Laine, and a twelve year-old son, Graham. Both children attend The Montgomery Academy where Laine participates in cheerleading and track, while Graham will be playing on the Middle School football and basketball teams next year. The Martins attend First Baptist Church where Angie is the paid child care director and also serves on several standing committees.


FUNDRAISING COUNCIL VP: CARNA TRIFTSHAUSER

Carna Triftshauser, originally from Mitchell South Dakota, moved to Montgomery when she was five and now lives in Pike Road. She works as an Account Executive for Enclara Pharmacia. Carna completed her undergraduate degree in Finance and Economics at Huntingdon College.

Carna joined the Junior League in 2012 and has served on Holiday Market, Special Events Chair, Preview Party Chair for two years, Co- Chair and served as the Hospice Market Chair in 2016. For the last two years she has served the League as a member of the Nominating Committee. She currently serves as Fundraising Vice President.

In her spare time, Carna is very involved with Distinguished Young Women of Alabama. Distinguished Young Women is the oldest and largest scholarship program for High School senior girls, awarding over 1 Billion dollars in College granted scholarship in 2019. The Program is represented in all 67 Counties and Carna oversees all Local Program as well as the State Program. Carna has served as State Chairman for the last 10 years.


MEMBERSHIP VP: AMY CAPPS

Amy Capps, originally from Noblesville, Indiana, is a graduate of Indiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in communications. She moved to Montgomery in 2004 for law school and has called it home ever since. With nearly 20 years of nonprofit and fundraising experience, she currently serves as Development Director for Service Dogs Alabama.

Amy has been a member of the Junior League of Montgomery since 2009 and is the 2019-2020 Membership VP. She has held many leadership positions including Shamrock Shuffle Chair, 90th Celebration Co-Chair, Community Research Chair, and Community Council VP. In addition to serving on various Holiday Market committees, Amy has also served on several community placements, but her favorite was the opportunity to give of her time and talent to multiple League and community philanthropies through what was once the Community Sampler Committee. She enjoyed getting to learn about and assist with multiple nonprofit organizations in the community.

Amy is a graduate of Emerge Torchbearers Class IV, has served as an Ambassador for the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce and Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce, a Former President of Executive Women International Montgomery Chapter, and a previous Board member of the Capital City Club’s Inner Circle Council. Amy is married to Shaun Capps who is a Civil Engineer for the Federal Highway Administration. They have a daughter, and recently welcomed a son in February of 2019. They enjoy watching movies, cooking, traveling, and Auburn Football.


OPERATIONS VP: MARIE WISE STYLES

Marie Wise Styles, from Geneva County and Kinston Alabama, attended Huntingdon College and was a member of the Huntingdon Lady Hawks Volleyball Team. She then moved to Mobile Alabama to attend The University of South Alabama to study Mass Communication. Marie moved back to Montgomery to work in the Information Technology Field. Since then she has held a variety of lead roles in IT support systems and currently works for Sumaria Systems Inc. as a Recruiter.

Since joining The Junior League of Montgomery in 2008 Marie has enjoyed serving in many different roles, most recent was Membership VP 2018. She was Chair of The Rummage Sale after being on the committee as Personnel and Ticket Chair. Marie has also served as Member At Large, Placement Chair, Make A Wish and Provisional Committees, House to House Committee, Fund Development, Community Research, Membership and Community Council, Fund Development Chair for 2017.

Marie also currently volunteers with The Capri Theater and is on the board for the Jubilee Community Center, The Sanctuary. Marie is married to Thomas Styles from Enterprise Alabama and they both enjoy attending events that interest them and finding any excuse to invite friends over to their home.


ADVISORY/STRATEGIC PLANNING CHAIR: CHACOLBY BURNS-JOHNSON

Chacolby Burns-Johnson holds a Bachelor’s in Business from Auburn University and a Master’s in Public Administration with a concentration in Non-Profit Management and Leadership from Auburn University at Montgomery.

Chacolby has been a member of the Junior League of Montgomery since 2009 where she’s served in Leadership Positions as Chair of the Ad Hoc Diversity & Inclusion Committee, Co-Chair of the Women’s Leadership Summit, and Personnel Chair of the Ready, Set, Geaux! marathon. In addition, she actively participated on the Shop,Save,Serve, Fund Development, Holiday Market Silent Auction, Shamrock Shuffle Run, Montgomery Medical Advocacy Outreach, Lee High School Library, and Gift of Life Committees.

For nearly two decades, she’s dedicated her career to pursuing her passion, purpose, and calling to improve the quality of life for the often-underserved segments of the population. She has extensive experience working with youth, young adults, families, and senior citizens. Chacolby has served in various capacities of Executive Leadership, fundraising, community outreach, public relations, events management, program implementation, and volunteer management in the nonprofit, K-12, higher education, and state government arenas. Currently, she holds the position of Major Gifts Officer with the Southern Poverty Law Center. She is a member of two professional organizations- the Association of Fundraising Professionals Central Alabama Chapter (Communications and Public Relations Chair) and the Public Relations Council of Alabama-Montgomery Chapter (Vice President of Programs).

With a genuine commitment to service and community, she’s actively served with various Boards and engages as a volunteer with several organizations to include the Alabama Board of Examiners in Psychology, Montgomery Capital Rotary Club (Paul Harris Fellow and former Board member), Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce Chamber Ambassador Committee and the Chamber Education and Workforce Development Committee, Leadership Lowndes County Class I,  Leadership Montgomery/EMERGE Torchbearers Class III, Montgomery Public Schools Career Tech Advisory Committee, Department of Human Resources Quality Assurance Committee, Building Our Neighborhoods for Development and Success (BONDS) Board member, Montgomery Ballet Board member, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, photography, writing, catching a movie, dancing, and doing life with her husband of nearly fifteen years Fredrick Johnson!


GOVERNANCE CHAIR: WENDY LEIGH

Wendy Leigh was born in Birmingham but moved to Montgomery during elementary school. She graduated from Auburn University with Bachelor’s Degrees in Early Childhood Education and Family and Child Development. She received her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Berry College in Rome, Georgia. Wendy is a fourth grade teacher at Airport Road Intermediate School in Millbrook where she serves on the Building Leadership Team, the Community Outreach Committee, the Harvest Festival Committee, and is Grade Level Chair.

Wendy was on the JLM Nominating Committee for two years. She served twice on the Holiday Market Steering Committee as Decorations Chair. In 2016-17, she was Governance Chair and will serve in the same role this year. She participated in the Boys and Girls Club placement.

Wendy was named as one of Junior League of Montgomery’s 2016 “Women to Watch”. As an active member of Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church, Wendy teaches cherub church and serves on the host team. For many years, she was the Director of Vacation Bible School and has chaired multiple special projects such as the Easter Eggstravaganza and the church photo directory. She has also fulfilled multiple terms on the Board of Stewards.

Wendy is married to Anthony Leigh, who is Huntingdon College’s Senior Vice President for Student and Institutional Development. They have one precious daughter, Carey Mae. When she has spare time, Wendy enjoys working out, reading, and gardening. She is an avid Auburn fan and enjoys traveling.


NOMINATING CHAIR: SHERRY WHITE

Sherry White is originally from Oxford, Alabama and moved to Montgomery with her previous employer in 1996. She then left Montgomery as a resident but continued to travel here every week until permanently relocating in Montgomery, Alabama in 2005. She is the co-owner of Answered Prayer Home Care, LLC a private duty home care agency and IGH a healthcare management company that manages and consults with nursing homes and assisted living facilities within the state of Alabama. She is a healthcare professional with an extensive background of experience and accomplishments. She has a background in nursing and spent most of years developing marketing plans and market strategies in long term care and healthcare settings.

She has served in the Junior League of Montgomery since 2011 in a variety of positions, most recent Nominating Co-Chair. She has served on Community Research Committee 2 different years allowing her the opportunity to really learn about all the great agencies in our community striving to make Montgomery a better place, MACOA Chair, Placement Chair and Co-Chair, Arrangements Chair, Habitat Humanity Co-Chair and MACOA Committee. She is also a recipient of “Women to Watch” award and was named Community Volunteer of the Year 2017 – 2018.

A member of Heritage Baptist Church, Sherry is active in the Children’s Ministry where she helps in multiple areas. She has a passion for serving others and has been on over 15 overseas medical mission trips with her church. She currently serves on the Community Outreach Board at the Montgomery Baptist Association, Mixtec Task Force that serves as an outreach to the Mixtec culture living in our community and the Missions Committee at her church. She also, leads a medical clinic along with the Mixtec church 3 times a year.

Sherry is married to John White who is also, her business partner. They have two sons Garrett and Dalton White both graduated from Trinity Presbyterian School. Garrett graduated from University of Alabama with a double major in Philosophy and Psychology and is currently a third-year law student at Cumberland University. Dalton is currently pursuing a career in nursing. Sherry enjoys spending time with family and friends and loves to entertain at their lake house on Lake Martin and she enjoys traveling as often as possible.


MEMBER AT LARGE: KRISHULA EDWARDS

Krishula Edwards is a native of Montgomery, Alabama. She graduated from Booker T. Washington Magnet High School (BTW) in 2007 and ventured to Florida for college to attend the best college in the world, Florida A&M University (FAMU). She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and master’s degree in Public Administration from Florida A&M University (FAMU). She also attended Troy University where she received a second master’s degree in Counseling & Psychology. Krishula joined Junior League of Montgomery in 2016 and have been a very active member. As a member of the league Krishula has served as Hope Inspired Ministries Placement Co- Chair and Chair. Krishula was recognized as one of the League’s 2017-2018 ‘Women to Watch.’

Outside of the League, Krishula has been an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ® for 10 years. Krishula Edwards was initiated into the Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ® in Spring 2009 at Florida A&M University. She is currently a member of the Beta Nu Omega Graduate Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ® where she serves as the chair of the Scholarship Committee. She also serves on the Membership Committee, Founders Day Committee and Special Projects Committee.

Krishula has the exciting career of working as a Sexual Assault Counselor at The Family Sunshine Center here in Montgomery, Alabama where she is able to instill hope in her clients who have been troubled with trauma. She also serves on The Ivy Foundation of Montgomery, Alabama Board of Directors and The Alabama Humanities Foundation Young Professional Board. Additionally, Krishula is a member of the Alabama Counseling Association (Division 7) and the Alabama Mental Health Counseling Association.

In her free time she volunteers throughout the River Region at many organizations such as Hope Inspired Ministries and Camp Sunshine though Girls Scouts of South Alabama. She enjoys sending time with her family, friends, dancing, going to crossfit and traveling the world. You can also check her out in the 2018 May/June issue of RSVP Magazine.

She is the proud paw parent of one toy yorkie name, Kash Edwards.


SUSTAINING ADVISOR: KELLI WISE

Kelli Wise, a 5th generation Alabamian, currently serves as an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court of Alabama. Following her graduation from Auburn University, Kelli began a successful career with Procter & Gamble, Inc. eventually returning to Alabama to attend law school at Jones School of Law. She later received a Master of Public Administration from Auburn Montgomery. Kelli was elected to the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals in 2000 where she served as Presiding Judge until her election to the Supreme Court of Alabama in 2012.

Kelli has been a member of the Junior League of Montgomery for 19 years and has served in many leadership positions including President, Communications Vice-President, Governance Chair, Community Research Chair, Public Affairs Chair, Holiday Market Decorations and Preview Party Chair and Rummage Sale Marking Chair. She has served on the Community, Operations and Membership Councils and volunteered with various placements such as Teen Court, Child Protect, Meals on Wheels, MANE, Decorator’s Show house and Habitat for Humanity. Kelli was selected as an inaugural member of the JLM Women to Watch and is a founding member of the Lillie Lee Minier Society

In addition to her work with the Junior League, Kelli serves on the Board of Directors of Max Credit Union and the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts. She is an active member of St. James United Methodist Church where she has taught Children’s Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Small Group Bible Study and served on the Parish-Staff Relations Board.

Kelli is married to Arthur Ray, an attorney with the Alabama Department of Labor. They are the proud parents of Hanah-Mathis, a sophomore at The University of Alabama. In her free time, Kelli enjoys vacationing with family, hanging out with friends at the lake and cheering on the Auburn Tigers.


RECORDING SECRETARY: LAURA-MARIE BRELSFORD

Laura Brelsford, from Birmingham, Alabama, moved to Montgomery to attend Huntingdon College to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies. She later received her Masters from the University of Alabama in Communication Studies with a focus in Rhetoric.

Since completing her education, Laura has lived and worked in the River Region focusing on event management and community relations for the past 11 years. She is currently the Director of College Relations for Huntingdon College.

Laura has been a member of the Junior League since 2014. She has served in several areas including College and Career Night, Fund Development and as the Rummage Sale Chair.

Laura is married to Joel Brelsford who is an accountant for the Alabama Correctional Industries. In her free time, Laura enjoys traveling with her husband, the ongoing renovations of their 1909 bungalow, and her volunteer work as the Chapter Adviser for Alpha Omicron Pi.
