Our Presidents

We began as the Junior Auxillary in January 1925. Under the sponsorship of New Orleans and Birmingham, The Junior Auxillary became a unit of  The Junior League of America in 1926, fifteen years after the first Junior League was established in New York.

Lillie Lee Minier (left) served as the Junior League of Montgomery’s first President in 1925. She was a great supporter of the arts and serving others. She left a lasting legacy in the community that continues today. Tragically, Lillie Lee was killed in a plane crash while returning from Paris with the Atlanta Arts Alliance in 1962.

From this time, each president has added more heart and expertise to the legacy of the Junior League of Montgomery. We are honored to have their touch interwoven into the tapestry that is the Junior League of Montgomery.
