It’s truly a pleasure to welcome you to our 98th year as the Junior League of Montgomery. The 2023-2024 league theme is, “Working and Leading with a Servant’s Heart!” #WeAreJLM, serving the Montgomery area with boldness and intentionality. When we allow our hearts to guide our interactions with each other and within our community, we will succeed.
I am excited for all things JLM. As we approach 100 years of service to Montgomery, my desire is for our membership and community to experience the heart and purpose of the league, and its membership, in a tangible way. Through these servant’s hearts, we will bring our members closer to their genuine purposes as well as inspire others to join the JLM family.
If you are new to the Montgomery area, or even a lifetime resident, I hope that you will be led to join our league. Within our organization, you will find a kinship with our members along with our community partners through their example of giving back to this city and surrounding communities. We open our membership yearly in March and I would love to welcome you into our organization.
I am looking forward to all of our upcoming events! I am grateful for the partnership with Montgomery Public Schools for our 39th annual College and Career Fair. In October we look forward to walking in a winter wonderland for our 35th annual Holiday Market. In March 2024, one of our longest-running events, the 66th Rummage Sale is eagerly anticipated by the members and the community. Lastly, we are pleased to introduce our newest fundraiser, Tulips and Juleps, which will be our Kentucky Derby-style event, in May 2024.
I would like to challenge each of our current members to fully engage this year within the league. Show your heart’s desire to serve with all you do, from working within our community to volunteering at our successful fundraisers. You are the true heartbeat of Junior League of Montgomery and I am proud to serve alongside each of you. Thank you.
Yours in Service,
Quenita D. Mitchell
